Donaldsis a
collective name given to all the distinct
mountains that are
over 2,000 feet 610 metres in Central or South of
Scotland IE. South of
the Highland Boundary Fault.
Whilst Munro-bagging is an extremely popular
climbing Donalds is not
nearly as widespread. There could be several reasons for
this, notably the
geographical location. It cannot be denied that
the majority of visitors to
Scotland
will tend to head for the Highlands, and the
bigger mountains.
Secondly, there are far less Donalds than Munros,
the terrain does tend to
be more difficult, not as many paths
involving walking in deep heather and
rough ground. There are 8 in the
