Do we need another
web site for hill walkers? Probably not.
But now that you have opened this one you may as well
have a look..
This site is different in that it is only for walking in
the OCHIL HILLS .
We have Munroe Baggers, Corbet Collectors, Graham
Gatherers and what ever they call what you do with
Marlyns.
What have all the above hills in common? They
are spread all over Scotland. If you live , as I
do , in the Forth Valley then you are only a short drive
until you are able to start your walk in the Ochils for
the day .
My quest is to climb all the named hills in the OCHILS.
For the data I am using the Harvey Map of the OCHILS.
(SUPERWALKER) .!! See Below
Something about me. I generally walk with four
companions two are Munro Baggers only. Their theory
is if we cant get a tick on the map its not worth
climbing. (Everybody knows someone like this.) That
leaves two who, like me, Munro Bag in the summer and just
to keep us ticking over ,will walk anywhere in the
winter. Usually hills that are not as far away and not
covered in snow.
This is where the OCHILS come
in.
Before we made the conscious decision to try listing all
these hills and visit their tops we would just pick
somewhere and go for a walk. I found this was
quite boring and not much of an achievement. Now we
look forward to our weekends so we can continue in or
quest.
To climb all the NAMED OCHIL
HILLS. (We may be first to do
this or at least first to keep a log of it.) Most
walker in the OCHILS have
climbed all the Donalds and the more well known hills but
not many will have ascended or even heard of Cap Law.
Check attached HILLS page to see all the names and where
they are. You will be surprised to see how many
there are.
